Harlow Glass Completes Landmark Project at The Wingate on Shaftsbury Avenue

Harlow Glass is thrilled to announce the successful completion of a prestigious project at The Wingate on Shaftsbury Avenue for renowned workspace design and build specialists, Oktra. This project showcases Harlow Glass's expertise in delivering innovative glazing solutions that blend seamlessly with historical architecture.

The centerpiece of this renovation is a striking new feature entrance glazed curtain wall. Engineered to harmonize with the building's original 1958 structure, the curtain wall integrates both a single sliding door and a concertina-style sliding door. This combination not only meets the functional requirements but also maximizes internal space, providing a welcoming and spacious entrance.

Adding to the modern aesthetics and functionality, glass balustrading was installed to further enhance the feeling of openness and space within the building. The curtain walling design was meticulously developed in collaboration with Oktra’s design team, ensuring a perfect balance between contemporary style and the building’s historical character.

A new feature canopy, integrated into the framing, now stands as a striking addition to Shaftsbury Avenue. This architectural element not only serves as a visual highlight but also underscores the building's sophisticated redesign.

Beyond the main entrance, Harlow Glass contributed to the renovation with the installation of large sliding door systems on the external terraces of the fourth and ninth floors. These installations provide seamless access to outdoor spaces, with the ninth floor offering breathtaking panoramic views across the city of London.
