Harlow Glass Completes Striking Entrance Upgrade at 6 Hays Lane, London Bridge

Harlow Glass has successfully completed the installation of glazing elements to a new entrance feature at 6 Hays Lane, situated in the shadow of The Shard. Working on behalf of QOB, the project involved fitting an automated double door system at the building's entrance, complemented by a matching full-height glazed screen that enhances the reception area.

A key highlight of the project is a bespoke glazed canopy, meticulously designed and developed in-house by Harlow Glass. This striking feature, visible from London Bridge Station, included structural loading analysis and pull tests on the existing London Stock brickwork to ensure its stability and safety. The canopy's large single-glazed panel also serves as the anchor for LED lighting, creating an impressive hovering effect at night.

To address practical considerations, the canopy's rainwater guttering was seamlessly integrated into the entrance door frame, preventing water from spilling onto the pavement during rain.
