Harlow Glass Installs Fire Rated Glazing at Flagship 20 Finsbury Dials Development

Harlow Glass has completed the installation of fire rated glazed screens and doors throughout the flagship 20 Finsbury Dials project, working for Erith on behalf of Greycoat.

Designed by architects Stiff + Trevillion, the project demanded a high specification glazing package to support the building’s premium commercial environment. Harlow Glass supplied and installed fire rated glazed screens and doors across the scheme, including large format doors serving the main lift lobbies throughout the building.

A feature glazed screen was also installed to separate the communal building café from the large ground floor office space, helping to maintain openness and natural light while providing the required fire protection and compartmentation.

Due to the scale and weight of the main lobby doors, full automation was required to ensure ease of use for all building occupants. This was essential to meet accessibility requirements under DDA principles and current building regulations, ensuring the doors remained practical for less ambulant users while maintaining the required fire performance.

Harlow Glass worked closely with its specialist supplier network to integrate automation into the fire rated doors. The systems were also designed to interface with the building’s high security management system, providing end users with controlled access, day-to-day safety and dependable performance in the event of a fire.

The completed installation demonstrates Harlow Glass’ ability to deliver technically demanding fire rated glazing packages on high specification commercial projects, combining fire safety, accessibility, automation and security within a carefully coordinated architectural solution.
