BIM Glass Facade Design
Harlow Glass is now working on a project with a glass facade designed with BIM. As briefly covered in our last news article showing our bespoke internal screen, Harlow Glass is pushing to keep at the forefront of construction methods. A key part of major projects around the country is the utilisation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Harlow Glass can now integrate with this as part of our design service to our clients. Through this system detailed views of a complicated installation can be understood and discussed not only with the main contractor, but also with the design team. This can help identify possible issues before they appear on-site while also aiding in swifter approvals from the design team.
Through our in-house skills we are able to link with a model that may be part of the design team project, or as with the project below we can model from architects 2D drawings. On the project below the original design intent did was not fully resolved in terms of installation. Through the use of BIM Harlow Glass was able to model the front facade of the building and show the design solution in 2D and 3D, including cut away views to enable swift resolution of the outstanding design issues and progress to approval.
